Here at Rain Control Aluminum we’ve been having a lot of fun meeting lots of people from the Tampa Metro Area on Twitter. As a result we’ve been inspired to look around and see what might be happening in our local community!
One of the first things we noticed is an April 27th community clean-up day in New Port Richey. New Port Richey is seeking volunteers to help clean up the old 1950s Post Office. The clean-up will take place between 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 6345 Grand Avenue.
The old post office is slated to become a business incubator: a space where business people can get together to share ideas, inventions, and innovations. They’re also calling it a “maker space” which means, essentially, the same thing-new business growth in New Port Richey and a great place to network!
If you’d like to be one of the volunteers you should contact Marilyn Mercado at the city offices by calling 727-853-1021. You can also e-mail Marilyn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The volunteers will be cleaning up the old post office, then painting it. So bring your old clothes!
New Port Richey is actually involved in a large community revival effort. There have been other clean-ups throughout the city.
The last clean-up happened at the Hacienda Hotel. It took two sessions, one on January 12 and one on February 23rd. Over 450 people from the Pasco County area have already gotten out to help their community, which we think is awesome!
The video below is from Pasco County TV. It covers the Hacienda Hotel clean-up and is very inspiring! You’ll even see City Council members rolling up their sleeves and getting in on the action.
We imagine the atmosphere at the Old Post Office is going to be just as positive, supportive, and fun. Don’t forget to register!
