It’s official: the Zika Virus has come to Tampa. There are currently 636 cases statewide; cases which started right here in the Tampa metro area.
It’s gotten so bad that Florida theme parks are handing out free mosquito repellent.
Officials are now patrolling area neighborhoods in search of standing water. And of course, you know from past posts right here on our blog that dirty gutters are a big culprit when it comes to the creation of standing water. We get those torrential rainstorms, and the resulting water gets trapped in all the leaves and other debris that’s sitting in there.
Code enforcement may never spot the water that’s lurking in your gutters, but code enforcement shouldn’t be the only reason you’re working to get this and other sources of standing water out of your yard. You should do it to keep yourself and your family safe.
Fortunately, there is no reason why you should ever have to get on a ladder yourself. We’ve been running all over Pinellas County this week, cleaning, clearing, and restoring gutters so that people can protect themselves and their homes.
Unlike many other contractors, we don’t shy from the so-called “small jobs.” We’re happy to clean your gutters for you. Of course, we offer plenty of advice on how to DIY the job here on our blog if you feel like that’s not money you want to spend right now. Call us for a quote before you pull on the rubber gloves, however. Most of our customers are quite surprised and pleased to learn that gutter cleaning services are not nearly as expensive as they think they are.
In the meantime, stay safe.
