Hillsborough County Extension Offers Landscaping Class

Have you struggled to put together a great landscape in the past? Do you find that your plants die before you get the lush, green, beautiful landscapes that you dream of?

Is all of our blog’s talk about Florida-friendly landscaping, native landscape, and advanced techniques like rain gardens frustrating because you’re having trouble keeping a basic garden alive?

Then the Hillsborough County “Landscape Pitfalls” seminar might have some answers for you. This seminar is designed to cover some of the “common gardening mistakes many homeowners make, and strategies for correcting those problems.”

The class will be held at the Bloomingdale Regional Library on December 4th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The address is 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, FL, 33596.

Like most of the county extension seminars, this one is free.

Hillsborough County Extension is also offering a canning class on Wednesday, December 4th. This one will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. They’ll take you through two types of canning processes while telling you what kind of equipment to buy.

They’ll also make the new USDA Guide to Home Canning available for sale. So if you’ve got your landscape covered but want to enjoy more of the fruits of your garden, this could be the class for you!

The location is .5 miles south of Exit 10 from 1-4, east of Tampa. You can contact the University of Florida Hillsborough County extension if you have additional questions.

Each of the county extension offices in our service area do such a great job of providing excellent educational services! It’s always exciting to see what’s going to be offered next.
